Located
in the heart of Idaho lays a jewel…The Wood River Valley.
This 20 mile long valley consists of four towns, Bellevue, Hailey,
Ketchum and Sun Valley. Just 60 miles north is the majestic
Stanley Basin and the headwaters of the Salmon River.
Along the way you pass the Boulder, White Cloud, Smokey and Sawtooth
mountain ranges. The Ketchum/Sun Valley area is unique in that it offers
small town values with big town sophistication. More specifically,
excellent private and public school systems, state of the art medical
facilities, numerous art galleries and a range of musical events from
the Jazz Festival to the Summer Symphony series.
The Wood River Valley is a mecca for the sports
enthusiast. The largest attraction is the world famous Sun
Valley ski resort. Bald Mountain offers
3400 vertical feet with state of the art snow making equipment and a
meticulous grooming system. Recognized for its absence of lift
lines as well as its incredibly fast and light snow, Bald Mountain
has terrain for everyone. For the Nordic enthusiast,
there are over 100 kilometers of trails for both skating and classic
skiing. Galena Lodge is a trails-based retreat and
historic day lodge located 24 miles north of Ketchum. In addition to
great Nordic skiing, Galena Lodge also offers hot lunches and full moon
dinners.
The
Sun Valley area boasts 15 hours of day light in the
summer providing just enough time to fit in all the available recreational
sports. There are 30 miles of paved bike trails, award
winning golf courses and beautiful Silver Creek for
flying fishing. In addition there are nearly one
million acres of wilderness for hiking, mountain
biking and white water rafting to name a few.

After you’ve spent the day enjoying the unlimited
outdoor activities Sun Valley has to offer, there are numerous gourmet
restaurants to satisfy your appetite – most of them within
walking distance in Ketchum. Once you’ve been taken by the magic
of Sun Valley there’s no going back. The need
to own a piece of the Wood River Valley will only grow with time.
That’s where Ketchum Realty, Ketchum’s
oldest real estate agency, can help you find your dream
home in paradise.
